“In that day, the branch of the Lord will be beautiful and glorious.”
- Isaiah 4:2
God has bent low to be near to us.
On a chilly Ohio night in December 2024, this verse from scripture came up in a conversation between the Broderick and Luehrs families - a conversation about our call to honor the Lord with our land.
God has bent low to be near us.
He is the branch that bends.
As individuals and as a family, we seek to bend our lives toward Jesus, bowing before our King. Branches symbolize new growth and restoration. Some branches, like those of the willow, are flexible and can be woven together—like us and our lives—to create beauty and something new.
This dream and venture are still quite new, but like a shoot that becomes a branch, we believe that we will see the Lord outdo us in our wild and whimsical dreams. Our hope is that this land becomes a place where heaven touches earth—where the rhythms of creation speak of redemption and renewal.
"A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse, and from his roots a branch will bear fruit."
— Isaiah 11:1
We are a Family Farm seeking to live on the land, nurturing a community of 'bending branches'—a people bent towards Jesus. We seek to build flexibility, fortitude and resilience into the land and our lives together, reflecting the redeemed creation God desires.
Stewardship
Through stewardship, we cultivate the land with regenerative practices that honor creation's design. We believe this land doesn't belong to us—we are merely its caretakers for a season, seeking to leave the soil healthier than we found it.
Community
Through community, we foster meaningful connections where relationships can take root and flourish. In an age of isolation, we're reclaiming the ancient wisdom of shared living—from harvest gatherings to fireside conversations.
Creativity
Through creativity, we express our worship through craftsmanship and beauty as image-bearers of the Creator. Whether through handcrafted goods or thoughtfully designed spaces, we celebrate the creative impulse as divine reflection.
Hospitality
Through hospitality, we embrace the countercultural practice of radical welcome. In a world that builds walls, we set extra places at our table, believing that every shared meal is a foretaste of the great banquet to come in God's fully restored creation.
Our goals are to farm the land God has gifted us, using all our resources to bring restoration and build resilience and sustainability, in partnership with Jesus—'The Branch.' We're growing something beautiful here—slowly, faithfully, and with great expectation.
